Flying Fish attack.

We noticed them around midday, flying low on the surface of the water, their blue bodies blending in as they checked us out.  They say flying fish are able to fly to enable them to evade predators, but we know different.  The first one, code named "Charles" boardd Pi Squared in the death of night; fortunately for us, Charles was not expecting us to turn on the deck light just at the moment he launched himself onto our yacht.  We spotted him clearly, illuminated by the beam.  We were busy bringing down out ripped headsail and didn't discover Charles, until sometime later, hidden within the flaked headsail a martyr to their cause.

This morning, they tried again, Trevor launched himself at us, holding his breath (or is that water?) and flapping his wings furiously.  He mistimed his apprach and landed in amongst the crew.  Not sure who was more shocked, us or Trevor.  Squeals could be heard, but not as you would expect from Lynn, all one can say is that "Porn Star Jake" has now been renamed "girlscout Jane".  Lynn picked up Trevor and sent him back into the ocean; we are sure we could hear him utter "You suckers, I'll be back!!".  Will Lynn regret her decision to save Trevor?

Other crew members have reported hearing sounds of flapping wings overhead during night watches.  Simon, 30, said "It sounded like a vampire fish".  We are tracking their every move and we will be ready.

On other news, our mainsail is back.  Weren't not quite sure if Fin intended to pin prick the Pi Squared logo onto his fingertips whilst sewing the sail, or if it happened by accident.  Regardless, he has lost all sensation in his fingers.  We may need to take action is we bow to requests from Jake to put Fin's hair in bunches.

We are nnow operating a watch system under storm conditions with 5 drivers rotating.  The previously named " no wind crew" had a bit of a stormy night; from my bunk, I could hear them scream "We are not scared, we are not scared!", following by screams of terror as the boat healed over armageddon from down below! Now, all is well with Fin (0800 quiet driver) on the helm; Lynn is also one of the drivers, don't be alarmed though, we'll be save, but can't guarantee that we will be going to the right place.

We came across, what looked like an abandoned yacht this afternoon.  We radioed them and ARC control to determine if all was ok, ie if abandoned, to determine if they had any gin onboard.  We eventually received a response - all was ok, they were down below "charing their engines".........
