We are now well into the tropics - its getting hot out here!

Quite an eventful day really.  Classic 80s tracks have been blaring from the stereo for most of the afternoon, which created a bit of a party atmosphere.  Jony was at the helm and was clearly more focused on getting into the grooveof the tunes rather than the motion of the ocean.  He failed to spot the "worlds largest bulk carrier" shipcoming across our bow on a collision course. Evasion action was taken by others and Jony was awarded the TWAT hat with full honours.

The effects of alchol depravation are starting to take hold .  The crew considered trading Sophie to the ship for a bottle of Vodka, before realising that she was on galley duty.

Sophie managed to cook a sumptious dinner at 25knots of wind with the boat pitching all over the place.  Her efforts to prevent scalding by wearing wet weather trousers and tin foil on her face were ingenious, but will not be adopted by other members of the crew.

Simon took the late shift on the helm and at 0215 was hit on the bottom by a flying fish. Apparantly, stranger things ahve happened to his bottom!!

The Celtic watch were on deck at 0300 and soon after had to deal with a ripped mainsail (in the dark, with the boat pitching all over the place whilst being beaten by flying fish).  Some of the "no wind" watch failed to spot the missing mainsail when they returned to deck later (oh, they never used it anyway.....ed).   What it is to be a finely tuned racing machine.

The main has now been repaired and will be hoisted shortly.  Oh, and we are sailing well and making good progress....
