Tried to set off on Saturday, but although winds
were in right direction they were blowing up to F6 with a choppy sea so we did
an about turn and headed back to Santander. Dropped anchor off Bikini Beach,
unfortunately weather was cold and wet so couldn't see if it lived up to its
name!
Stayed there overnight then went back to Santander
marina for lunch with Carl and Mel. Stayed overnight then up at 6.15am local
time for an early start to Ilse d'Oleran. This is a 185 miles NE of Santander
just by La Rochelle. Carl and Mel leaving too, going West towards
Gijon.
Cloudy start but sun soon broke through to give
wall to wall blue sky and hot!!!. The only downside is the wind is from the
NE.
This trip a mixture of motoring and sailing with
winds from 5 knots to 17knots, but has been fairly stress free for
Amanda.
Expected arrival Wed morning then just have to wait
for tide to come in so we can get into marina.
More to follow...
