Hi Alle
WIll keep this message short as we have hit our
first big winds. 5 gusting 6 and we are being swept along at quite a lick so
difficult to balance. Its also a l i t t l e ... bit scarry for me that
is.
We had a lovely gentle breeze all night so perhaps
this is to make up for that - I managed to let Ricahrd sleep from 8.30pm through
to 1.45am so luckily he got a good nights rest - sadly I cannot same the same
for tonight as the worst of the weather is due to hit around midnight so I think
he will be on call more frequently tonight just to hold my hand. I must
add that I too had a good nights sleep went to bed at 2am and would you believe
it the lazy cow did not wake until 10am - disgusting! I have to say Ihave
felt tired most of today think the tension is getting to me, hey ho all good
character building stuff. Have taken some video footage of both the start
of the day in brilliant sunshine and some just recently to show the difference -
bet it doesn't show on film!!!!!!
Judy in answer to your email you need to download
google earth in order to see the map of where we are - I will email you
back when things a bit calmer.
Love to you all and I pass you to the man in charge
my master and commander big kiss all round xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
we were doing quite well this morning then the wind
started to shift round to the SW, it has been there most of the day so it is a
bit of a bind tacking all the way. Cruising sailors aren't supposed to go
upwind!!!.
WE have the genoa rolled up to the third reef mark
and three reefs in the main and are still doing 5.5 to 6 knotsin around
23-25knots of wind..
If we need a quiet night then we might heave to
depends on what the wind does. Still one advantage is that I haven't had to
run the engine to charge the battery. The wind generator is putting out
7.5A in the 23knots of wind.
hopefully this will all blow itself out by tomorrow
and we can get a bit of sunshine
