Subject: Piracy You may by now have heard that one of the BWR yachts has been
pirated and it would seem that the 4 crew have been taken as
hostages
The Yacht is the American Flagged Quest with Scott,
Jean, Bob and Phyllis
No more news is known at this time
It needs to be stressed that against B WR advice they left
Bombay
1 Alone
2 Sailed straight for Salalah across
dangerous waters and were advised accordingly
I confirm that we are following the BWR route to the north and
our group is monitored by the UN force when ever possible and they are currently
happy with our route
Our position is 22:01n 061:44e some 280nm north of the Quest
attack
In 100nm from now say in 20 hours we shall be within 20nm of
the Oman coast and will proceed down that coast - It is well patrolled by Oman
Ships
All is well on board
