Hi all,

We are pleased to report that the weather so far has been really kind to us.  We have had a cracking day averaging 8.7 knots since leaving Horta.  The wind is from behind and the sky has been mostly clear for the day.  It looks like we will be able to head for Falmouth for the time being.  There is still a large Low pressure system set to chase us down, but it seems to be tending to head more North now.  So fingers crossed we can make landfall in Falmouth.

I (Blake) finally worked out how to do sun sights (Astro-Naviguessing) again and managed to get within 10NM of our positon with a Sun Run Sun Fix today.  (Gotta be happy with that!)  I discovered that the Aeronautical Tables book (required to work out Sun sights) has disappeared from the boat,  so I have had to work out how to use the Sight Reduction tables in the Astro Almanac!  Managed to get my head around it, but thank goodness for GPS as it took me several hours work!!

Hope the sun stays out so I can take more sights!!  We are lapping it up as there is loads of wet weather on the horizon.

Cheers

The sun bathed Y4 crew.
