Tuesday May 27, 2008 Update to earlier entry

Indian Key, Florida Keys. Lat 24° 52.53’ N, Long 80° 40.76’ W (for the benefit of mailasail plotting I think our position needs to appear as 24:52.53N, 80:40.76W

I have now corrected our current position that was wrongly shown on today’s first entry.

We have rested today though also been able to do a few repairs. I have taken the thermostat out of the engine and we will see what that does. I was going to replace it with my new one that I have had aboard for 20 years but, as I have often told others, I should have replaced it before: it is the wrong one! Janet is currently doing a preventative sail repair to the leach of our #1 genoa.

The NE winds which are forecast for tonight should end by morning so we plan to set out offshore tomorrow morning and take the deep water and Gulf Stream around to Fort Pierce, Florida where we hope to arrive late Thursday. So, don’t expect any more updates until Friday. While in Fort Pierce we will continue with a few repairs and decide then if our next stop is Bermuda.
