Hello everyone !   :-)

Today it´s the eleventh day at sea and all is well.

We´re having a great time aboard and sailing is easy as it is rigth now !

All in the crew feels well and have got their sealegs by now.
We made contact with a boat just some 80 nautical miles south of us. It is an english boat with two guys aboard. We said to have a beer together on arrival in Horta /Azores.  :-)
We shall see who get´s there first, haha !

Strangest thing that is really. As soon as a sailor spots another sailboat it´s a RACE !
No matter where you are or the circumstances.
But fun! :-)

Today at 10.20 am we passed 2000 NM sailed. we´ve had an average of 7,63 total and the last 24 hours we sailed 199 NM (1 NM = 1852 meters or 1,15 mile )
Not bad for such an old lady !  :-D
Still we have about 850NM to the Azores.

So right now we are pretty far from nearest land !  :-o

But as I said before, all is well aboard and the  boat pretty much handels it self on the autopilot and we just ride with it.
Smooth sailing it is so far.

We have a reasonably good check up on the weather every day thruogh the satelite phone wich makes us able to do this web diary and also download weather predictions for our area and ahead.
really good system and extremly usefull to us when it comes to planning and plotting the best course for our trip.

Right now we have a high building up in front of us during the next day or two. That is why we now changed our course 10 degrees to the north to try to catch the last of the prevaling southwesterly winds.
That way we are optimizing the speed to Horta even though it may not look that way on the map.

Acording to our track on the map it seems we are aiming  to much to the south. But that was to avoid the lows further up north last week.
It´s really fun with sail tactics over such a vast area as this, the second largest ocean, is !

Food is exellent on this trip and today we had freshly baked chocholate muffins to our morning coffe!
Yummie!

A day aboard passes swifthly and days merge into eachother to a very pleasent feeling inside.
We all feel very content about beeing right here, right now.
It is a great feeling.

I truely hope that you all get the opportunity to feel the same way sometime, with whatever it is that you might like to do.
For us it is sailing.

Take care of eachother !

Yours sincearly

Capt. Tomas
