We started well possibly in the top 10 with the big boats and pulled away
from the fleet, doing 10kts with cruising chute flying in 20kts of
wind!during night and Monday still making 9 / 10 kts surfing in big seas.
We had to help a 70 ft racing boat last night that lost her rudder. We
relayed a telephone call via satellite to Falmouth coast guard then onto Las
Palmas coastguard. We will have covered 210 nm in the first 24 hours.
Steve is sunbathing in his underpants , unpleasant! but food is good so we
will turn a blind eye to the working class habits of Fenstanton inhabitants.
Clive has started smoking so he can sit on the back of the boat with Steve
and Henry whilst Neil keeps returning to his immaculate little berth to
sleep or avoid jobs! Leaving Paul and I to sail. Rough and rolling around.
