And they’re off. At 10:00 local time the NOMAN 2013 crews set out from Barcelona and started heading out to Ibiza.

Danielle crossed the line a couple of lengths ahead of Isabel and continue to lead the race at this early stage. However, with the weather set to become more of a challenge for the crews over the next few days and with the crews so close together it really is anyone’s race.

 

In the next few hours the crews will be rounding a waypoint before heading directly towards Ibiza. Then as the sun goes down, the crews face the prospect of their first night at sea out of the sight of land, a daunting prospect for the uninitiated.
