Hello!

Thanks for checking out our blog for our adventures across the Pacific! If you've been sent this link and are not really sure what it's all about, we are sailing from Panama back to Australia, via the islands of the South Pacific. We've jacked in the jobs, and are planning on being away from March - November 2012. Our rough itinerary is below, although since when did anything go according to plan?

March - Sailing from Bocas del Toro to Shelter Bay, Panama and fixing up the boat in the marina there
April - More fixing/testing of the boat, maybe a trip to the San Blas islands, then a transit through the canal to the Pacific side of Panama, aim to depart Panama around 25th April...destination Galapagos Islands
May - Galapagos Islands, then the big 3 week ocean crossing to the most easterly islands of French Polynesia - the Marquesas
June - Marquesas and Tuamotus
July - Tahiti, Moorea, Raiatea, Bora Bora
August - Cook Islands and Niue
September - Tonga and Fiji
October - Vanuatu and New Caledonia
November - Australia (Bundaberg to Sydney)

We're currently still in Sydney but leave on Monday! After months and months of planning, we can't wait to get out there and see our new boat, but for now we are crazily trying to tick things off an ever-growing to do list, and trying to work out how we can pack everything into our 92kg's of baggage allowance! Our boat, Mystic, is a Beneteau Oceanis 423 and currently located in Bocas del Toro, Panama which is where we're headed next week. It takes a few days to get there and we have a night in LA and a night in Panama City before we can fly to Bocas on Wednesday.

Hopefully we'll be able to update this blog every few days, once we've arrived in Panama, for the duration of the trip. We have a satellite phone which should (if we can get the damn thing working) provide us with very brief and very slow blog upload and email access. There will also be lots of photos in our blog, I just haven't quite figured out how to do that yet!

Hope you can join us from your office/armchair for our voyage! More in a week or so from Panama.

Australia out.
