At 10.30 pm Monday night we had finally got to the stage that the list to do jobs was less than the list done jobs and with a fill of Diesel we headed into the night bound for the Bras d'Or Lakes in the Cape Breton Island on the NE tip of Nova Scotia. 21 hours down the road.
With no wind we motored through the night, having one on watch at a time and 6 hours kip when you were off.
We saw many seals and pilot whales but none were interested in playing with us and submerged fast as we approached.
The wind built up for 4 hours on Tuesday and we had a cracking sail with the wind on our aft quarter.
By 7pm we reached Saint Peters Canal just before closing and entered the Bras d'Or Lakes.
Just inside we found a little marina and berthed on The Lion's CLub Marina. The hot news on the dock was that the session was on in the village pub from 7 till 9, without further ado, we hit the session!
The town of St. Peter's was inside and the music stopped as we entered!
We met all the musicians who had welcomed Paddy Barry ICC and crew to the same spot in 2010 on their Roundabout Beara and Newfoundland trip.
The people are so friendly and welcoming with a good touch of the Irish as they want to know all about you.
The quality of the musicians we were assured would be better on Thursday night and much pressure was applied to stay till then.
We however don't have the luxury of another 2 days in one spot and are under pressure to make it through the Lake and arrive on the Newfoundland coast.
While there's little wind around here the sun has come out and it's as good as as being at home!!

Keep the e mails coming we love the fan mail.
