A frustrating daywith light winds for the first
time in the crossing; just enough to keep a spinnaker flying but boat speed down
to 4 knots for the first time - we have got very iused to continually doing 9-10
knots most of the time! A lot of concentration is nnecessary from the helmsman
to keep the sail from being rolled around the forestay - a 'spinnaker wrap' but
fortunatley we have been able to unwrap them quickly without delay or damage to
the sail.
The moon is full now and it was an exceptional
transition from day to night at sunset. The happy hour has further twisted my
arm to add a Gin and tonic to the two beers on the basis of completing 2000
miles! Hard to refuse with the sky and Rod Stewart playing on the cockpit
speakers. I think they have worked out how to get round
me.
