It's not that we don't know what day it is we just
decided to miss out the 1st July and go straight from the 31st June to the 2nd
July.
So here we are just over 1000nm from Santa Cruz and
under 2000nm from Hiva Oa having just completed an amazing 206nm run midday to
midday. We have averaged 8.5knots since midday today and so are hopeful of a
repeat petformance, the alternative of a good night's rest would also be
acceptable! We have just passed another boat of the same length that left Santa
Cruz 2 days before us - a testament to the boats sailing ability rather than
ours I think.
Steve threatened the boat with sale in new zealand
yaesterday morning if she did not start to behave and it seems to have done
trick.
Another fish got away this morning, slowing down
might have helped to get it in but with the 200 mile run on the cards that was
really not an option.
All well but we are getting low on tonic water for
the gin. Galley sink plug gone missing and half a lime make a great
substitute. The Boaties Fry Pan turned out square pancakes for breakfast
this morning just thre right size for one even if a bit big for the
plate!
