By Midday yesterday we were afloat. We were both quite anxious about it
which seems a bit strange but I suppose it is one step nearer to sailing
home. Everything is fine and working. The tiller is a bit stiff. I
think we put too much paint around the pintles. Yesterday was so calm
and peaceful being afloat, away from the noise of the yard, cars and
barking dogs. It did take a while to adjust to the motion again. It is
much cooler being afloat with a lovely breeze flowing down the windscoop
into the boat. And no mozzies!
We are going to clear out today but not leave until Sunday as there is
quite a northerly swell to 12ft today and tomorrow. We are planning to
sail the 300 or so miles to Antigua from here non-stop. English
Harbour, Antigua is virtually due north from here. We'll see how we go.
If we do stop over it will probably be Bequia, St Lucia, Dominica then
Antigua.
Our friends Chris and Sali on 'Coqui' are next to us at anchor and
heading back to the Uk also. It seems we will start the trip in company
which is nice.
