A great day’s sailing in fine weather after early rain squalls. These are becoming more frequent as we get further south into the tropics. They last about 20 mins and are very heavy. Some have taken to sailing through these in just their swimmers (evidenced below). Whilst the rain stings it is fairly warm and makes for a very refreshing shower. Steve Tubby even got his shower gel out this morning and made a proper job of it. Others have enjoyed sun kissed helming during the day (also evidenced below). The strong breezes have provided great entertainment and enabled us to set another new speed record of 14.5 knots.

We have now covered 2000 miles. One of our instruments shows our ETA for St Lucia. It has been stuck on 99.99 hours since the start as this is the maximum it handles. However, we are now close enough that our ETA is less than 100 hours and the read-out has sprung into life, counting the hours downwards. This was a significant milestone and we now have a new clock to watch. We estimate we will arrive Monday evening, unless of course something changes. And out here it can.

Finally, we have become concerned for the health of Mr Kipper. All will be revealed …..
