We are moored at the town quay in Papeete. A comparative hive of activity and strange to hear the cars roaring up and down. We visited a beautiful cheerful clean market yesterday much to Graham's delight. Graham bought a postacard and it cost 3.5 dollars before the stamp so life ain't cheap here.
The people are so different again. Very cosmopolitan, the colours worn are bright and surf gear is the thing. very fit looking style and so outdoor! PApeete has a young, lively feel to it (so far), Ilike it. Benj is not impressed with the lack of gaming shops BLESS but he has a Chinese Duck Noodles which made him happy.

No one really enjoyed this last passage with all the reefing and rain and squalls. We met some other boats here too and they have had similar experiences. WE met Anita, which I met in Almerimar four years ago. A tiny little boat designed by a young Polish guy. There were two Polish girls on board on a circumnavigation. The two young people on board now tell me that it is on the way round for the third time and the little boat is looking very good on it too .

We will have few days to fix up stuff, see the island and then off to Moorea and weather watch for the next leg to Rarotonga I think.

THANK YOU David for our weather watch, I cannot imagine how you fit in our weather worries into your schedule but we all appreciate it so much.

THANK YOU too to to Leon and Anne for looking after our tiny precious, DIXIE! We read yesterday as it was the first email chance we had, that Dixie had been ill. WE are so fortunate that you adore that silly dog as much as we do. Give him a hug from us, not that he will be short on hugs. WE know that any decision you make for Dix is the best that can be made and you have our full authority and blessing to make those decisions, he could not be loved more. Benj was upset when he heard Dix was poorly but so, so delighted when we got to the good news. ...

Off to sort out the crap connection to the mast from the radar antenna, theres always something going on. Whoever said that cruising was fixing boats , then fixing thema gain, in beautiful ports was spot on.
