Yesterday morning, we visited the fuel berth to fill up emergency water
bottles, and the closed cafe next door to download weather files. Then
another rush across at the dinghy's one speed to post cards at Nelson's
Dockyard. Back to Finnrose, where Mark, Ken and Ken started to sort out the
failed tri-colour - three energy-sapping trips in the afternoon heat up to
the masthead only to find that it was switched off.

We lifted the anchor at 4 p.m. and set off for Bermuda, sailing through the
inshore passage over the Cade Reef area via the Old Road Bluff; sadly it was
over-cast, so the beautiful turquoise colours of the reef were not seen to
their best advantage, but it was an impressive sail.

By 6 p.m. we were passing Parson's Island and Jolly Harbour on the west
coast of the island, and gradually lost sight of the island in the twilight.
A steady force 4 during the night allowed a steady sail using a reefed jib.
Thursday morning dawned bright and sunny, and a force 6 allowed us to make
good progress at around 7 knots.
