We had a couple of nights in Bequia. Very pleasant place, although the clearing-in and clearing-out at Customs and Immigration was a very bureaucratic and expensive exercise.

We would have liked to go on to Tobago Cays, but the wind at the present would not have made staying there an enjoyable experience. Also time is short - we need to be making our way back to St. Lucia for Isy's flight on the 10th.

As it was today we had an exciting sail in gale force winds north up to Wallilabou Bay on St. Vincent. There we had, for us, the novel experience of anchoring off the beach and taking a stern line ashore and tying it to a palm tree. Actually it wasn't too difficult because we were assisted by the local boat boys (actually too many of them; after helping us tie up they proceeded to try to sell us their usual range of wares - fruit, bead necklaces, bowls woven out of palm tree fronds, etc.)

Wallilabou was the setting for quite a lot of filming in 'Pirates of the Caribbean'. Much of the film set is still in place and is something of an attraction in the area.

We went ashore in the evening to the local restaurant. Good local fish and food in authentic Caribbean style.
