Fai Tira on the Equator 0:00.00N 88:25.37W

 

We are now Pollywogs. We have crossed the Equator and have performed the initiation rite which involves the Pollywogs receiving a summons to appear before King Neptune and his court.  Normally the ceremony involves men dressing up as women but unfortunately we have no women’s clothes on board so we had to think of something different. 

 

We decided to play and sing lament to King Neptune and his court and humiliate ourselves at the same time before the great king.  It all went OK I think????.  After all it was an iNeptune!!!

 

 

After the ceremony is complete the Pollywog receives a certificate declaring his new status as a Shellback.  To commemorate this John and myself further humiliated ourselves yet again by playing another lament to King Neptune and his court in reverse.  This was received fairly well and we were given permission to carry on with our Adventure but only if we lose our guitars!!!
