The excitement is growing as the start race date looms. Everyone is
extremely busy getting everything ship shape. The major issues have now
completed with the alternator and the water maker now fully operational.
Dermot and Mick have just completed the mother of all shopping expeditions
see the photo which only shows the none perishables items the meat, fruit
& veg are arriving today. The crew have attended a few evening functions
and we wore our crew Hawaiian shirt with flowers in our hair. Its all
steam ahead now as complete the last of our check list items, sprits are
high and we are ready to go.
We had fun checking the main sailing monument on the quay pointed out by
Dave Nicholson ( in the picture) showing that we were following in his
wake as he was remembered for being the only Irish boat passing through
here on the Columbus 500 crossing in 1992. This year there are only two
Irish boats. Rory on Cerys from Galway and ourselves.
One day left of shore chores and the adventure begins.
