We're off again!
Some people who had been following us across the atlantic were disappointed that we never arrived, as the last blog had only said 'land ahoy'    and there was no follow up!
Let me set the record straight... we made it alright but the lure of a long cold Rum was too much of a distraction and we did fail to put closure to our trip.
This won't happen again!
We have been down here in Tortola BVI for the last 5 days.
While you all will think of the sun at 30 degrees and the water at 28degrees in clear waters for swimming and snorkeling that things have not been at all bad for us!
I need to inform you of the other way of looking at it here.
We are sweating buckets as we prepare the boat for the trip North. Our days have been spent running around in this heat provisioning the boat and reparing the parts that are broken like the freezer. We have only had 1 swim sinse we arrived and we are so tired from all our work we hardly have the energy to enjoy a drink in the evening! So you see things aren't always as they seem.
Our trip starts today as we leave The Bitter End Yacht Club in Virgin Gorda Tortola British Virgin Islands.
The first leg is 830 Nautical miles to Bermuda and we have a good weather window for the trip The winds are 20-22kn Easterly which is what we want and by Saturday night the winds will have died down to about 6-10kn. So it looks like we will have a fast start to the first leg of the trip and a slow finish.
All to be done is to make our dinner (10 am here now) for tonight, have a swim and a snorkel and we're off.
Please send us a line to eddienic {CHANGE TO AT} mailasail {DOT} com as we love to get post the more the merrier last time you were a bit shy I think, but remember not to attach anything, just text in the mail.
Talk to you again soon.
