John and Kim have arrived Las Palmas. Good news, boat still here and in tact and all luggage arrived with us. We were considerably over weight but thankfully at no extra cost! Well done BA!

Las Palmas is not the prettiest of cities, the marina is very close to their "M25". The facilities are a mystery - Brighton suddenly seems like the Ritz!

There is much work to be done, but hopefully as of next week we will have all the crew - that is Erik, Jackie and our newcomer Regina with us who will help.

Unfortunately, Trish who was due to sail with us, has suffered a broken arm and therefore out of action. We wish her well!

We are looking forward to meeting Regina, who has stepped in at the last minute and will be joining us this Sunday.

The weather had been unseasonably hot here (as with everywhere else) but today cooling down. We awarded ourselves a day off today and took a tour round the island. Well worth doing as will leave Gran Canaria with a much more favourable impression. Pretty towns in the mountains and spectacular views across to Tenerrife!

For those of you who know John's "classic" sailing wardrobe - the yellow "dip me in honey T shirt" has yet again been ressurected. Great ice breaker and eye brow raiser!

Meeting new people all the time and finding out who will  be continuing on world arc. Plenty of lectures to attend - really looking forward to the one on Whales.

Time for a glass of wine now so signing off.

Best wishes to all.
