Day -1 today - Glen arrived our 6th crew member - an old friend of Donald's from his military days. Great guy - experienced sailor - he is a brilliant addition to the boat.

We've been out to Antibes on the train today to get filters and fishing gear after a big unpacking session of the 11 large boxes we brought out on the plane of stuff for the boat.

Everywhere shut for lunch 12.00 to 14.00 so Donald and I were forced into a local restaurant for a light(ish) lunch until they reopened.

Our return train journey from Antibes saw us sweep right to Nice past where we wanted to stop at St Laurent Du Var where the boat is in the marina. We'd been confidently told to get on the train by a local.

Over dinner tonight we talked about crew rota of 4 hours on 8 hours off day and night shifts and how we organise ourselves. All sounds good.

Late evening after dinner work included fitting the large additional double cupboard we've had made to house the microwave and other gear. It looks great despite being made rather differently to what was planned.

Tomorrow Morning first light we leave to go to Antibes to pick up fuel and watermaker spare filters - then out into open seas heading straight for Gibraltar with no stops - weather permitting.

So we are all set for our first day of our first leg of our Atlantic crossing.
