Hello.

Arrived in Cape Verde Yesterday (the 1st) at 10am. 7 days to do 900 miles. Not bad going. Much windier than previously but she thrives on it them. Downwind sailing is blissful in this Yacht. After everybody warning us that Cape Verde was dodgy and a real dive it has been a real pleasant surprise to find that the Marina is excellent, the weather absolutely stunning (soooooooo hot) and that the locals are really friendly. We decided to come here to get more fuel, recoup and chill for a couple of days. We deliberated about going straight on but it made sense to break it up and George has just done 900 miles straight after first stepping on the boat.

It really feels like we are away now, and quite frankly we are. We have done around 2,500 miles on this journey so far and we are on the same latitude as Senegal. Flying fish have been landing on our deck and one hit me on the shoulder when I came up for my shift which freaked me out a bit as it was pitch black. It is Georges turn to land a fish and he almost had one the other day but it just chomped through a 300lb line and a lure the size of my forearm so I don't think we would have wanted that anywhere near the boat to be quite honest but fishing is becoming much more fruitful.

We aim to leave tomorrow at 6am as long as all the jobs are done and then it should take us between 14-18 days depending on weather. We then go about 4 to 500 miles south to pick up the proper trade winds and then cut back up towards Grenada. Cannot wait.

Love to you all and I will keep you updated across the Atlantic. Wish us luck and speed xxx
