Leaving La Coruna onwards to Madeira

Finally we get to leave. La Coruna has been good to us. We have had our engine fixed by two good engineers. One who looks like Sgt. Bilko without the glasses and his mate who looks like the bloke who is married to Eva Longoria out of Desperate Housewives. Gareth loves his lookylikies!! So you can tell we are bored. It is the classic Paradigm shift. We spent the final 3 days of our last journey at full whack and it went so fast, almost like a blur and then we have sat here for 5 days waiting around and resting that it seems like about a fortnight. We sail at 2am to tackle the traffic transit zone of Finestere and then on to Madeira for a few days.

The photos attached are of another Tradewind 39 (only 10 made) which is owned by a guy called John who has had it for 32 years. He is ex navy and has sailed it around the world many times. It is refreshing and reassuring. Obviously his is neater and tidier and newly varnished but whatever, we have a cracking yacht. The other one is of me pulling the short straw to clean the heads (toilets).

Love to you all, especially you, Annie xxx
