Well, we made it up to Palau Tioman in the teeth of the NE monsoon, which is supposed to be over, but eerr, not quite. Overnight at Pulau Tinggi then a nice tough beat with 25+ knots to arrive Tioman. Where the newly built marina just isn't big enough for Arkouda, nowhere to turn her round, and the bays miniscule. A 42ft mono is about the biggest you can get in here. So, anchoring off, enjoying the local food and some snorkeling and, yep, about to hit the duty free shops - in the rain. (and boy, is it raining! something to do with being in the shadow of a 3500 ft mountain, so that's why they call it rain forest....)

But this doesn't look like home for the off season, just too small, so it looks like we might head back down to Puteri for a secure base. Oh, the 'we' - No1 son and John the Mad Scouser joined in Sebana. So of course, we're fast running out of beer - hence the duty free trip!

More anon....
