Mike (Allan's son), Marie (daughter-in-law), Ellinor and Anna Dooley (grandchildren) together with Malin Haggblad (Marie's friend) joined us in Athens.  We visited the Acropolis before setting sail south to go island hopping.

Windy conditions for visiting Aigina, Poros and Idhra but we found some pleasant anchorages protected from the swell.  Ruth and Malin got up early to start the 60 mile trip from Idhra to Milos and we had a great sail with the wind on the beam in a westerly 6.

Milos was volcanic and very barren.  The next stop, Folegandros, had a wonderful 'chora' which we visited by bus for supper.

Next stop was Thira (or Santorini) which was not very yacht friendly.  One 'anchorage' was so steep-to there was no suitable depth to drop the hook.  Thira town anchorage involved mooring to a very large drum and putting a line ashore.  Therefore Allan and Ruth stayed on board whilst everyone else visited the town and we left for Ios as soon as they returned to the boat.
