We arrived in the Cape Verde yesterday at about 3.30 pm having decided the slant was more comfortable to go to the Island of Sal rather than go straight to Mindola . The wind was dead astern and the swell was running across our route .
On arrival the crew Immediately jumped over the side for a fab swim in 24.5 degrees water . Not like last winter’s winter swimming in south Devon.
Our journey was accompanied by shoals of flying fish jumping and flying all around us . Only a very few landed on the deck , one tiny one and one that had probably lived it’s natural life span and was the size of a mackerel.
We are now anchored in Palmeira on the west side of Sal . There is amazing surf and quite a few very proficient surfers!
Had a great celebratory supper ashore fresh Simply grilled Tuna and dorado chips rice and veg all washed down with the local brew of beer . Delicious 😋!
About to go and check in and out at the policies National in the building we identified on our walk around town yesterday. then we will head off for Soa Nicoulau a bit later today to arrive in day light tomorrow morning.
There is no 4G so still relying on our satellite link . So sadly no photos yet
