Tour El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala - Day 2 (Part 1)
Day 2: Copan, Honduras After breakfast, we all piled up in tuk-tuks to go to the Mayan
Ruins of Copan, a few miles outside town. Vicki and Rudy in the first tuk-tuk. John getting into the one
behind. View of the second tuk-tuk from the other side of the street.
You can see Gayle from this side. Valerie waiting for another tuk-tuk. Jorge rode in the front seat of the tuk-tuk, next to the driver. We’ve arrived at the Mayan ruins site… Gayle Eric and Valerie Saul, our Honduran tour guide by day and musician by night, with
a great attitude and great sense of humor. He made our tour of the Copan ruins an unforgettable experience. Giant Palm Tree on the site A little lesson before we start… …and a group picture A guatusa rabbit, a large rodent indigenous to Central America
and South America A macaw. They are not indigenous. They were introduced to the Copan ruins
grounds. They are semi-domesticated. The Copan ruins… They are truly breathtaking. They were the highlight of the trip
for me. You can learn more about them at: http://www.copanruins.com/ Entering the area known as the Acropolis… Romantic pictures on the ruins… how could we not? Vicki and Rudy Valerie and Eric Gayle and John Eric Saul, most likely singing his way through his explanation J |
