The chart plotter is showing 1399.5 miles to St. Lucia and the log is
showing 1406 miles sailed, so tonight we are celebrating crossing the halfway
point. Paul is cooking bangers and mash and we have a nice bottle of wine to
drink.
Today we caught fish number 3, we think it’s an Albacore, but not entirely
sure.
We’re still heading slightly south of our true course to skirt round the
area of light winds that would otherwise block our path on Thurs\Fri. The wind
has eased and the sea has calmed down a bit as a result, so it is more pleasant
on board now. Also the temperature is up, blue sky and sunshine today, no need
for oilskins at night anymore so they have all been put away.
Hopefully it will be classic trade wind sailing for the remainder of the
trip and we’ll be arriving in about 9 days time.
cheers
