13 – 14 August

We all flew to NYC after a HUGE run A Day Karate Test and subsequent run test for Alexandra. She set a new personal best with a 2 mile run time of 15:25! All of us are so proud of her and we are looking forward to our NYC trip to celebrate.

We landed in JFK and headed to our hotel. We met the Berry’s to celebrate with Sophia as she turned 10 last week. We had a quick trip to FAO Schwartz and the Apple Store and then dinner. The next day the girls had a full day of birthday celebrations at the American Girl Doll Store and they saw the play Wicked. The boys went and met Neki at City Island Marina. This is located at the far Western End of Long Island Sound. Eric was on board and we planned to sail the boat down the East River. Unfortunately it was raining and raining hard. It turned out to be the fifth rainiest day in NYC history. This did not dissuade us from our journey. We put our foulies on and cast off around 1100.
