The shout from the crow's nest came at 17.25 as we spotted the north end of Lanzarote (and we have no idea whether Analogue Dave was there waving at us as we sailed right by). Captain Roger had made the call that rather than stopping in Lanzarote during the night and needing another overnight sail later to get to Gran Caneria, we would head direct and aim to arrive Friday evening. At least, this is our story - some may say that what really happened is that we missed Lanzarote due to our rubbish navigation (without Analogue) and found ourselves pointing at Gran Caneria - we'll let you decide which you believe.

At 8.00 Friday we are at 28:51.4N 014:34.0W which is 60 miles from our destination according to Digital. Winds are fresh around 15 knots and we are on schedule for our evening arrival at the place we set out to get to when we left Plymouth 17 days ago - remarkable some may say - we prefer "never in doubt".

Now, a question about local sea life and its attraction to our boat (and we promise that the correct answer is true)

Which of the following sea life spotted yesterday saw us passing by and jumped onto our boat. Was it:
a. Flying Fish
b. Squid
c. Dolphin

Answer will be revealed tomorrow (if we remember)

Big news - corn flake mystery resolved - lots of container ships in and out of Gran Caneria - all of which we managed to miss colliding with by at least a mile.

Sad news - the Billinsgate based fish gutting lessons paid for by Paul were a waste of money.

Better news - Paul has another 2000 miles in November/December to justify his investment in his fish related skills

Off now for a wash and brush up before the quiet night out planned.
