Departure from Cascais Delayed

The delay has also meant that we will change our plan to stop in Madeira and instead head direct to the Canaries with Lanzarote being the obvious first stop. When we get there, we will have broken the back of the journey with only 100 miles or so to Grand Canaria from there. This plan happens to work better for Paul whose wife, Andy, is hoping to meet him in Gran Canaria on Friday but we now fear she will be there before we are - but at least only a short flight away for Paul. Roger Kevin and Bob will then poodle around the islands enjoying the scenery before aiming to be in Gran Canaria by Tuesday 21st. Well, that's the plan but as you can see, plans have been known to change.
Lanzarote is 660 miles from here on a bearing of 220 degrees in a straight line so we are expecting it to take five to six days - our longest passage yet - so the supermarket trip planned today will be a big one.
As ever, there is much to fill our time with today and as we write this, we are doing so to delay the tasks of repairing the toilet seat and putting Kevin up the mast to attend to a malfunctioing steaming light. Kevin has already been diving in the marina looking for Roger's fishing rod holder which he (Roger) knocked over the side whilst trying to silence the wind turbine (which vibrates immediately above his cabin). There is a video of this process (which involves lassooing the blades with a line) which Kevin will post separately if the technology allows - we found it funny even if you might not.
More tomorrow (n.b. spelt correctly this time) from the 'Its all too beautiful' trip.
