Day 3 of our passage from Maupihaa towards
Vava'u:
The first day started off well with light winds and
making around 5 knots flying the parasailor, however the wind dropped out
late afternoon so the motor went on and the seastate deteriorated into a nasty,
short and uncomfortable swell. We did manage to sail some more during the night
but not much rest was had by the crew. Hence the lack
of an earlier update.
Yesterday was much better and last night we had strong
winds so with 2 reefs in both sails we were still humming along at 8 and 9
knots.
Today is a steady 18 to 20 knots and we are going along
nicely having had some rest. I might even manage to eat today!
