37:06.43N 08:40.44W Just as we were getting depressed at the prevailing winds and currents, up pops one of those magical days.  Out of harbour, sails up, engine off and a comfortable, fast, close reach right on course.  We still have the adverse current of course but, even so, our SOG (speed over the ground) reaches 7 knots at one point with one reef in the main.  It seems Mira is in a mood to show off!  We reach Lagos 2 hours earlier than expected and are through the lifting bridge and tied up by mid-afternoon – perfect!  The photo shows Mira ready to leave Vilamoura.
