Suddenly I like Mondays

Well here we are on Monday morning with a clean shirt and ironed newspaper
ready for work. Work being checking the rig and making a decision about
which book to read next (between teg's blast at the harmonica - if I hear
Michael rowed the boat ashore on more time....)
Teg had a great birthday with fresh tuna, champagne, a dolphin display,
sunset to die for and prezzies. The rigours of ocean life.
The weekend has been a bit too kind with rather too gentle NE winds forcing
us to motor for about 36 hours depleting rather precious supplies of diesel.
The wisdom has been to get S of 20N where the tradewinds should blow a bit
more reliably.
A sat call to friends on ELJAY (an Island Packet 38) who are about a day
ahead of us suggest that winds are not much stronger further south. So
having asked a member of the audience we decided to phone a friend (at the
met office) who suggested that South is still good but not to expect more
than 10-15 knots for the next few days. Now sailing at 4-5 knots in 10-14
knots of breeze so not much Monday stress around here.
Christmas in St Lucia still technically possible but looking less likely at
the moment.
Thanks for any e mails. Remember to keep them short and don't include the
original message in replies!
That's all for now folks!
