40 miles and 5 locks later we were at the mooring field
in Stuart. A new marina was built here, complete with crew lounge,
restaurant, and more. Larry and Ulla drove us to West Palm Beach to
inquire about having Amber Isle hauled for some bottom
work. He'd taken his boat there last spring and would help with the
work. However, they warned that it would take longer than the 2-3 weeks
we'd allotted. Instead of taking time out of our Bahama trip, we decided
to postpone the job til we return to Tennessee. After Larry and Ulla left,
we called Pam and Rich Herman who live in Hobe Sound, 12 miles south. They
invited us to raft off their 65' boat at their dock.
