The local Hamburger Beach Club restaurant was having a BBQ, dance, and a local Bahamian band. Although we ate at home ( Mahi of course) , the menu was a good one, with BBQ chicken, fish, cole slaw, peas and rice, and baked macaroni and cheese. We arrived after dark by dinghy and the band was already playing outside, under the causurina trees. They played such Bahamian favorites as "Who Put the Pepper in the Vaseline?", "Shake it Up, Shake it Up", and "I Like to Move it, Move it." All the songs were played to the same beat and in a medley, so once out on the earthen dance floor, you may be there 10 minutes or more. The band had guitars, harmonica, and keyboard. Local Bahamians danced with the boaters. Food and drink were served until they sold out of absolutely everything, then closed the doors. There were many other boaters we knew, but we also got to see Paul and Melanie from "Top of the World." This is a wonderful house and property recently lovingly built by this American couple. We met them last year and visited several times, but had not called them since our return. With promises to get together soon, we left by the light of the still incredible moon.
