                | 23:11.11, 12:01.43N 61:40.79W Back in Grenada after 6 months working back
home and it's strange to be back.  Adam's been on the boat for two weeks
and has been working really hard - all the antifoulding to do, generator and
compressor to service, all the rigging to go back in etc.  I've been here
for 3 days and we've managed to finish the antifoul and polish and wax the whole
boat - not the best fun in 33 degrees.  Had to be up at 5:30 in the morning
to get 3 hours work in before it gets to hot, then it's siesta from 11 til
2.   Quite a few people here all getting the boats
ready, we have a couple of rums in the evenings with 2 austrian blokes who are
both called Tomas so that is easy. Launch day today and we are relieved to be away
from the various biting things - mosquitoes haunt the toilet/shower block in the
boat yard and they are really quick. . .  you usually come out with at
least one new bite every time.  . hopefully not somewhere too bad. . .,
Chitras in the sand bite and there is a nice ants nest on the floor
near the boat.  I stood on it - the ants march up over your shoes then as
soon as they find some skin, they bite. . .   . But apart from that it is nice, hummingbirds
buzzing around and you go to sleep listening to the din of the frogs and
crickets Wax on .. . wax off . . .. Getting craned to the dock - always scary. . .
. . Much better - the view from Stargazer back to the
boat yard on the right and green mountains everywhere else. We're still getting
used to walking about on a moving boat and keep crashing into things.
First thing we did when we got out onto the mooring was jump in for a swim
to cool off - I have missed that! |
