Anchored in Mindelo harbour over the course of
Saturday evening to Sunday evening a number of boats arrived that we knew from
the canaries and a couple that we had been speaking to when we could on the
way. Made the mistake of having first glass of wine in over a week on the
evening when we arrived with a couple who were next to us in Gran Canaria - very
hot weather and wine lead to a very bad headache the next day, I blamed
them.
Wandered into town on Monday to do all the
immigration stuff and get our passports stamped - a troup of us went, it was
like a school trip. Then all went for some lunch at the Mindelo 'Club
Nautical' - good to catch up with people and hear everyones tales of their trip
down. Town is fine - some very pretty bright coloured buildings and people
are friendly.
Now getting sorted with more fresh fruit and veg
etc and fixing a few things - we hope to leave for the Windward Islands on
Wednesday 22nd providing weather still looking OK. Saw a turtle this
morning swimming 10 yards from the boat!
Dinghy escaped again yesterday due to Susie's poor
tying of a knot - Adam went swimming - my excuse was that he is a stronger
swimmer than me and faster, I would not have caught it! Adam has tied the
knot this time on the dinghy.
