I am still stuck in the glue pot of the Azores High, very light breeze and very slow progress.  I think it was Gandhi who observed that 'there is more to life than increasing its speed' but right now I could do with a little more speed.  The wind has slowly backed overnight and is now blasting from the NW at force 1-2, so it is difficult to even keep the sails filled in the ever present swell  -  lots of clattering and banging from them slatting to and fro.  Nevertheless we are still making 2 - 3 knots, so that's better than being completely becalmed.  I suppose I need a huge lightweight drifter, but finances dictate otherwise and at the moment the wind direction is too shy for my spinnaker.  I don't even have enough speed to charge my batteries with the water generator and the solar panel is mostly in the shade of the mainsail, so that doesn't help much.  Patience is definitely needed.  And a good library.
