ABC Islands, Bonaire: Arrived late 21/01/2013: Picked up a mooring and later moved to the marina to facilitate cockpit fridge repairs. An interesting island (after overcoming the immigration office supervisors <ex Netherlands mainland> who eventually authorised a 4 day stay limited because our young South African crew member’s visa was incomplete). Hired a car and explored the salt works (complete with preserved slave quarters), Indian painted astronomical observatory caves, and typical Bonaire dry scenery. |
