Morning. Last few days a little more than "the
milk run" with force 6 to 7 winds and 3m seas. Had our first big squall
last night. 3 minutes from appearing 8 miles away on radar to being with us with
38 knots of wind which shifted 90 degrees and set the boat off rocketing along
at 9 knots. Also close encounter of the Orca kind. Two 8 metre Orcas came
to take a look at us. So close to the boat we were worried they would hit us.
Phenomenal speed of approach as they swam down the waves to us. Stayed 10
minutes then left. All good now, seas calming today the futures bright,
the futures orange ( well at least the storm jib is). |
