2nd and 3rd of Dicembre

We continue to progress towards Martinique like a Swiss train: solid, consistent performance day and night. The weather is gorgeous with spectacular sunrises and relatively benign sea state. Today we have marked our record high of 250 miles.

The atmosphere on the boat is great, with some fatigue stating to build, especially during the night watches where the threats of squalls forces us to be more prudent and last couple of nights precautionary we had to take the gennaker sail down to avoid damages to the boat or the crew.

As we anticipated in one of the earlier posts, Luca is not an easy cookie and never gives up… this morning (with the gennaker down) he put the fishing line at 7am, and despite the speed of the boat, he was able to catch a dolphinfish (after few seaweeds before).

Beau, Luca and Vaifra cleaned the fish, and we cannot wait to eat it tomorrow.

Il treno svizzero: 2 e 3 Dicembre

Continuiamo ad avanzare verso la Martinica come un treno svizzero: prestazioni solide e costanti giorno e notte. Il tempo è stupendo con albe spettacolari e un mare relativamente benevolo. Oggi abbiamo segnato il nostro record di 250 miglia.

L'atmosfera sulla barca è fantastica, con un po' di stanchezza che comincia ad accumularsi, soprattutto durante i turni di guardia notturni dove le minacce di burrasche ci costringono ad essere più prudenti e le ultime due notti per precauzione abbiamo dovuto ammainare la vela del gennaker per evitare danni alla barca e/o all'equipaggio.

Come avevamo anticipato in uno dei post precedenti, Luca non è un tipo facile e non si arrende mai… stamattina (senza il gennaker) ha messo la lenza alle 7 di mattina, e nonostante la velocità della barca, è riuscito a catturare una lampuga (dopo qualche tentativo dove ha pescato alghe).

Beau, Luca e Vaifra hanno pulito il pesce e non vediamo l'ora di mangiarlo domani.
