Good bye Las Palmas - St. Lucia here we come!

It's just after 3 AM and it's my shift. My beauty sleep which I just woke up from tells me the sea is as soft as my pillow. And yes, it is! Wind and waves have dropped considerably since last night, and its supposed to be even less for next couple of days. Leaving Las Palmas was fantastic. A lot of buzz with close to 200 boats leaving one by one accompanied by music, brass band and cheering crowds! Knowing that most boats have planned this for a long time and all the hours, weeks and maybe months of preparation, you get that last kick and relief knowing that "the" day is finally here. From having Xmas tree with green, red and white lights all around you last night to total dark, you know you are alone. Only the AIS tells me there are some boats not too far away. Tomorrow they are probably gone too.....! See them in St.Lucia! I have had problems posting this blog with photos, so sending without photos now and will try to send photos later! |
