The weather forecast for today was for storms (according to the Capitainerie) fortunately we did not get any. It did rain for a short while and threatened to do so again several times during the day. So we able to finish off the last bits and pieces on the boat and go shopping and go for cycle ride round the town (sorry city) without getting wet. We found out today that there are in fact four of us making the 100 kilometre dash down the Seine tomorrow. When you read the books about the safest way down the Seine between Rouen and Le Havre, it all sounds horrendously complicated. If you ask six different experts(?) about the correct time to start the run down, you get six totally different answers. I suspect provided you treat it with a degree of caution and common sense, it is fairly straight forward. We will see tomorrow, we start at low water at 09:00am and hopefully make the port of Honfleur near the end of the Seine by 17:30hrs. When we got back from our tour of the city, the American couple, Alice and John off the yacht “Ariel” came over for drinks and nibbles. They will be making for Southampton next weekend with view to trying get their boat shipped back to the States ( my second crossing of the Atlantic is now just a wishful thought). They are fans of the TV programme “Foyles War” we told them if they come to us we will show them around Farnham where a lot of the scenes were shot. I think we will meet them again, before then, in Le Havre at the end of the week. Both of us were very dozy in the evening so an early night is called for, I think.
