Left our moorings at Chatou motorway bridge at 08:00hrs into yet another bright sunny day. This is too good to be true! Passing through Suresnes lock at 10:00hrs which we shared with a huge barge. No problems at all, we are getting quite expert at boat handling in locks! ( that’s done it the next lock will be a fiasco) 11:30 hrs HORRAY! EIFFLE TOWER SIGHTED! At 13:00hrs we entered the lock into the Paris Arsenal. (and no it wasn’t a fiasco!) What a complete difference from all the previous marinas we have visited, clean, fresh well equipped with like a small park on one side and a high embankment on the other side. A five minute walk to the Notre Dame in the blisteringly hot sunshine earned us large ice cream each. We thought that Notre dame was a bit dark and dingy after the Italian churches we have looked at recently. I think we have been a bit spoilt. Hundreds and hundreds of other tourists seem to enjoy the interior. We were both surprised at the number of people from all ages that were tearing around on roller skates. In the late afternoon there was a procession of about a thousand skates going down the road being escorted by police cars.
