Left Montargis at 09:30hrs and followed the two Canadian boats to the first lock but since the locks on this canal are smaller we were unable to get in with them so we had to wait for the lock to re-cycle. We then went through 9 locks in all. The last four of which were very deep (4-5 metres ) fortunately the lock keepers had the fishing hooks out to take bow and stern lines from us. Weather-wise it was a very miserable. Cold (14 degrees) and a fine drizzle. Might as well be in England. Stopped for lunch at Mountboy where there are Roman ruins and a roman spa. Since the weather was so bad we gave them a miss and carried on to the historical town of Chantillion-Coligny, arriving at 16:00hrs.The stop probably has the best facilities since the Arsenal Marina in Paris. HOT showers!!! And free WiFi. We decided to stay the night here, hoping the weather would improve so that we can do some sightseeing tomorrow.
