Best noon to noon of the trip so far 167.8nm which is so close to a 7 knot average that I am going to claim it!!

The winds were better overnight and although a bit lighter not by much hence the better run. Since dawn we have had the Code 0 back up sailing at about 110 apparent and flying. Really a great day to be sailing out here. We had 225nm to our halfway mark at midday so should crack that by tomorrow evening at this rate. Then we can start counting down which its a good feeling.

Looking at the weather over the next few days it looks like the wind will start backing around more to the East so I am trying to make our way North a little which should help to give us a better wind angle when it happens. It is not that easy without slowing down too much but we will see what we can do. So far we have sailed an almost perfect Rhumb line course from the Galapagos without having to go south to find some wind which had been my initial thought prior to leaving.

I have been reading up on the different islands in the Marquesas to try and prepare for our arrival and make a bit off a plan for cruising them. We have allocated about 8 weeks to sail through French Polenesia which is probably not enough time but will have to do for this year. Still it should give us plenty of time to see a lot of the different islands in the three main groups and we can always amend the plan as necessary.

The dinner was good last night and we finished off the chicken with a nice Ceaser Salad lunch time - very healthy for us I know. I have a line out at the  moment trying to catch a fish for our halfway dinner tomorrow evening but no luck as yet..

Nothing more to report today, will be back tomorrow hopefully.

Cheers
